One thing that the 13 year olds in the family received during their 13 year "Passage" celebration is a pair of engraved dog tags. Actually, some years I've been able to purchase a single dog tag with engraving on both sides, but most times I've had to settle for two tags printed on a single side. I've had them made on engraving machines at Walmart, at Pet Smart and even purchased through the Etsy seller RoyalEngrave
In case you can't read them, the first one spells out the R.E.A.L. acronym:
